What to say at a fansign or video call in Korean
Time per fan at a fansign or a video-call fansign is short, usually somewhere between about thirty seconds and a couple of minutes depending on the event, and there may be no interpreter. The trick is to plan four short lines and know how to ask for help. Readings use Revised Romanization with syllables split by hyphens.

Plan four lines, not forty
Say each line slowly, in one breath. If you run out of time, the first two lines already did their job.
- Greeting: say hello.
- Who you are: your country and, if you like, your name.
- One thing you want to say: a thank-you or one specific thing you loved.
- Goodbye.

You do not have to answer in full sentences. A smile and a short word is enough.

이름이 뭐예요? i-reu-mi mwo-ye-yo What is your name? |

Before the day
- Time yourself saying the lines out loud. If it takes more than about twenty seconds, cut a line.
- Check your connection and device ahead of time if it is a video call.
- Follow the event rules and the staff. Rules differ between events, including whether you may hold up a written note.
- Mistakes are fine. A short sentence said clearly lands better than a long one said in a hurry.
